‘Emergency Response at Gloucestershire Airport Following Pre-Planned Emergency Landing’

On Saturday, Gloucestershire Airport—also known as Staverton Airport—experienced a significant emergency response involving fire, police, and ambulance services. Around 4 p.m. on November 8, responders were spotted attending to an incident on the runway.

According to Gloucestershire Police, the situation was a pre-planned emergency landing, and fortunately, no one involved was injured. Witnesses observed the aircraft attempting to land twice before successfully touchdown, although the plane came to rest at an angle off the runway.

Gary Marshall, who observed the event from The Aviator Café, described the scene: “At 16:00, a plane made an initial landing approach but aborted. As we left the airport, the same plane made a second attempt. Passing by the runway’s end, we saw the aircraft off the runway at an angle with rescue vehicles just arriving.”

Over the subsequent 10 to 15 minutes, a continuous stream of fire engines and ambulances arrived at the scene. After approximately 20 to 25 minutes, emergency services began to depart.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has confirmed the incident was reported and is currently under assessment. A formal report is expected to be published in due course.
