‘E-biker knocked pedestrian down causing cracked ribs in Cheltenham’

Carole Hetherington suffered cracked ribs and bruising after being knocked down by an e-bike while crossing the road on High Street in Cheltenham. The incident took place outside Poundland at around 9:15 a.m. on January 5.

Carole recalls the event saying, “I was crossing the road when an e-bike suddenly appeared and hit me. The rider glanced at me but then rode off towards the town centre without offering help.” Fortunately, two bystanders stopped to assist her.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and Carole was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, where an x-ray confirmed she had sustained cracked ribs and bruising. She was later discharged but left with significant pain, requiring time off from work to recover.
