E-Bike Rider Racially Abuses Van Driver at Gloucester Roundabout

Gloucestershire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses after an e-bike rider racially abused a van driver at the Painswick Road roundabout in Gloucester.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, at the roundabout near Coney Hill. According to the police, the van driver was stationary when the e-bike rider, who was cycling without any lights, approached closely.

When the van driver lowered his window to speak with the rider, the cyclist responded with racial abuse and threats before riding off towards Eastern Avenue.

Officers described the e-bike rider as a Black male in his late teens or early 20s with Afro hair. He was wearing a black jacket, black jogging bottoms, and a black scarf at the time of the incident.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the abuse or the events leading up to it, and has not yet contacted authorities, to come forward. They are also requesting anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
