E-bike Collision Leaves Woman with Cracked Ribs in Cheltenham

A Cheltenham woman suffered cracked ribs and bruising after an e-bike collided with her as she crossed the road outside Poundland on the High Street. Carole Hetherington recounted how the e-bike appeared suddenly, striking her and knocking her to the ground.

The incident occurred just after 9:15 a.m. on January 5. Carole explained, “I was crossing the road outside Poundland when an e-bike came out of nowhere and hit me. The rider looked at me briefly but then rode away towards the town centre, leaving me lying on the road.” Two bystanders stopped to assist her.

Emergency services were called, and Carole was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, where X-rays revealed cracked ribs and bruising. She was discharged after several hours but has since endured significant pain and had to take time off work.
