Driver Hospitalised After Car Flips Onto Roof in Stroud Crash Near Petrol Station

A serious two-vehicle collision on London Road in Stroud has left one driver hospitalised after his car flipped onto its roof. Emergency services responded to the crash, which occurred just before midnight near a BP petrol station.

The incident involved a white Ford EcoSport and a grey Skoda Superb. The driver of the Ford sustained serious injuries in the collision and was taken to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 41-year-old man from Bristol was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently released pending further investigations.

Gloucestershire Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward. Those with information are asked to contact the police quoting reference 550 of April 30.

An official statement from Gloucestershire Police said: “Officers patrolling London Road on the evening of Wednesday 30 April came upon an overturned vehicle near the BP petrol station. It was established that a collision had taken place at approximately 11:55 PM involving a white Ford EcoSport and a grey Skoda Superb.”

The police emphasised the importance of witness cooperation to assist with the ongoing investigation.
