A serious crash on the A46 left a young woman hospitalized with significant injuries and resulted in a drink-drive arrest. Gloucestershire Constabulary responded to a two-vehicle collision at approximately 4:40 pm on Monday, April 13, near Brockworth.
The incident involved a white Fiat Doblo Cargo van and a yellow Vauxhall Corsa on Painswick Road. The woman in her 20s driving the Corsa suffered serious injuries and was transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Authorities report her injuries are not currently considered life-threatening.
The driver of the Fiat van, a man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. After receiving medical assessment at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, he was released into police custody. He remains under investigation as inquiries continue.

The crash caused the A46 to close for over 12 hours, with roadblocks lifted early Tuesday morning after the recovery of both vehicles.
Police urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward, citing incident number 361 of April 13. Information can be submitted through Gloucestershire Constabulary’s online reporting form.
