Dramatic Police Chase Ends with Three Men Arrested Following Burglary Near Cheltenham

Three men have been arrested in connection with a burglary at a home in Didbrook, a village near Cheltenham, on Saturday.

At approximately 4:30 pm, a member of the public alerted Gloucestershire Police after witnessing a break-in and spotting the suspects leaving the property in a vehicle. The caller provided a detailed description of the vehicle, including its registration.

Police quickly discovered that the Skoda involved was using false license plates. Specialist Operations officers identified the actual registration and shared details with responding units. The National Police Air Service was also deployed to assist, as the suspects were believed to be heading toward Cheltenham.

Officers located the car matching the description and initiated a pursuit. The three men abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. One was apprehended near the vehicle following the intervention of a police dog and handler. The other two ran into a nearby field and were subsequently captured with assistance from the air support, including one found hiding in a hedge.

The suspects, aged 18, 19, and 49, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and failing to stop for police. They remain in custody for questioning. The vehicle was recovered and confirmed to have cloned plates, and forensic investigations are ongoing at the burgled property.

The police appeal for anyone with information or footage related to the incident to come forward by submitting details online, quoting incident number 297 from 18 April.
