Donald Trump Claims King Charles Would Have Supported War Against Iran

Former US President Donald Trump has made a striking claim that King Charles would have supported a war against Iran, describing the monarch as a “friend” and a “great gentleman.” Speaking to The Telegraph ahead of King Charles’s visit to the US to mark 250 years of American independence, Trump expressed admiration for the King, whom he has known for many years.

Trump said, “I like him. I always liked him as a prince. He’s a good man, a great representative for your country.” When asked about the King’s stance on the conflict with Iran, Trump added, “I think he would have taken a very different stand [on the war in Iran], but he doesn’t do that.” He also emphasized the strength of their relationship, calling King Charles “a wonderful and brave man” who has “been through a lot, in many ways.”

These comments come amid increased tensions in the Middle East, where the US has launched multiple strikes against Iranian missile sites over the past month. The UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, authorized the use of UK bases, including RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, for “defensive” US military action related to these operations.

Trump has criticized countries that have not joined the US in military efforts against Iran, specifically calling out the UK on his social media platform, Truth Social. He urged these nations to “build up some delayed courage” and suggested they should “go to the Strait of Hormuz and just TAKE IT” to secure vital shipping lanes themselves. He warned allies that the US would no longer be there to support them, implying they must learn to “fight for yourself.”

The controversy surrounding Trump’s remarks highlights ongoing debates about international alliances and military interventions in the Middle East, while also placing the British monarchy in an unexpected political spotlight.
