Diversion Route in Place After Crash Closes A46 Near Dyrham Park

A serious collision involving a car and a motorcycle has forced the closure of the A46 in both directions near Cold Ashton, just south of the Tormarton Interchange in South Gloucestershire. The crash occurred at around 4:25 AM on Friday, November 28, affecting the busy stretch between the M4 junction 18 and the A420, including the vicinity of the main entrance to Dyrham Park National Trust.

Avon and Somerset Police are leading the response to the incident, with National Highways Traffic Officers on site to help manage traffic flow. Due to the closure, drivers are being advised to take alternative routes using an unofficial diversion suggested by National Highways.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and consider adjusting their plans to avoid delays. There is currently no official diversion signage, so following guidance from National Highways is essential for a smoother journey.
