Channel 4’s latest factual drama, Dirty Business, dives into a decade-long investigation of England’s water companies, spotlighting whistleblowers and victims affected by sewage-contaminated water. This compelling three-part series brings real-life stories to the screen with an outstanding ensemble cast.
Leading the cast is David Thewlis, renowned for his role as Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter series. He plays Ash, a former police detective and concerned local resident who notices disturbing changes in his Oxfordshire river. Alongside him is Jason Watkins, known for his acclaimed work in The Crown, portraying Peter, a Professor of Computational Biology who uncovers shocking evidence of untreated sewage being dumped into waterways.
Asim Chaudhry, familiar from People Just Do Nothing, stars as Mickey, a whistleblowing sewage plant employee who exposes critical failings within the water company. Posy Sterling, known for her roles in Playing Nice and Trigger Point, appears as Julie, contributing depth to the narrative.
