Devoted Mum, Granny, and Great Granny Featured in This Week’s Gloucestershire Funeral Notices

Announcing the passing of loved ones through local news media is a time-honoured tradition. We are honoured to be entrusted with sharing these important notices, preserving memories and providing a lasting tribute. Every funeral notice published in our newspaper and on our website is also available on funeral-notices.co.uk — the UK’s leading site for death notices and memorials. These notices remain online indefinitely, offering families and friends a safe place to share memories, add tributes, upload photographs, and make donations in memory of their loved ones.

Each week, we pay tribute to individuals from our community through published funeral notices and online memorial pages. Below, you will find a selection of recent notices from Gloucestershire.

  • Pat Walters, a much-loved mum and nanny, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Sunday, 24th May. At her request, no funeral will take place, but donations to an animal charity of your choice would be welcomed in her memory.

  • A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed peacefully at home on 22nd May. The funeral will be held at Cheltenham Crematorium Willow Chapel on Wednesday, 10th June at 12:30 pm. Family flowers only; donations to Sue Ryder, Cheltenham, are appreciated.

  • Roly, an ex-Cleeve Motors employee, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on 17th May, aged 96. His funeral service will be held at St Michael and All Angels Church, Bishop’s Cleeve on Friday, 3rd July at 12:30 pm. Donations to Cancer Research UK may be made online or via Mason & Stokes funeral directors.

  • Other recent passings include those of beloved mothers, fathers, grandparents, and great-grandparents, each commemorated with funeral services held at venues throughout Gloucestershire such as St Lawrence Church, Sandhurst, Gloucester Crematorium, and more. Families have requested donations to various charities including the Alzheimer’s Society, Sue Ryder, Dementia UK, and the MS Society in lieu of flowers.

We extend our deepest sympathy to all families and friends mourning their loss. To view current notices or to publish a tribute, visit funeral-notices.co.uk or contact our friendly team.
