A delivery driver in her 30s was seriously injured after being attacked by two large dogs while attempting to deliver a parcel in the Forest of Dean. The incident occurred just before 3pm on Saturday, 29 August, at a property in Malswick, near Newent.
The two dogs involved have been identified as Cane Corsos. The victim sustained significant injuries to her arm and multiple bite wounds on her body. Despite her injuries, she managed to retreat to her vehicle to seek safety while awaiting emergency services.
Paramedics transported the woman to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where she remains under care for further surgery and treatment.

Police promptly attended the scene, where a dog handler secured the two Cane Corsos behind the property’s gates. The dogs were subsequently seized, and the owner was contacted. A man was arrested on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control but has since been released on bail as investigations continue.
The local area is known to be popular with dog walkers, prompting officers to appeal to the public for any witnesses to the attack or anyone with information about previous incidents involving these dogs to come forward.
Gloucestershire Police emphasised that under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, it is an offence to have a dog dangerously out of control in any place, including private property.
