David Beckham has made his first public appearance following his son Brooklyn’s candid and explosive remarks about their family feud. The former England captain attended the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday, where he was photographed for promotional materials and took part in a podcast for Radio Davos, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor despite recent tensions.
Brooklyn recently ended years of silence with a detailed Instagram statement exposing rifts within the Beckham family. He accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of actively trying to sabotage his marriage to wife Nicola Peltz and of manipulating family narratives in the media to their advantage. The 26-year-old revealed that his family, notably his mother Victoria, behaved inappropriately at his 2022 wedding—specifically citing an incident where Victoria “hijacked” his planned first dance with Nicola in front of 500 guests, causing him great discomfort.
In his statement, Brooklyn denied any desire for reconciliation, emphasizing his intent to stand up for himself after years of feeling controlled by his parents and having to endure a facade of a united family through orchestrated social media posts and public appearances. He also claimed his parents pressured him to sign away rights to the Beckham family name before his wedding, a move that could have impacted his future and that of his children.

Brooklyn described emotional struggles, including being disparaged by family members for seating choices at his wedding and enduring private and public attacks reportedly orchestrated by his parents. Disturbingly, he said his brothers also turned on him via social media before ultimately cutting off contact.
He further accused his family of repeatedly disrespecting Nicola by inviting former relationships into their circle to create discomfort. Despite Brooklyn’s efforts to maintain family ties—such as traveling from LA to London for David’s 50th birthday—his attempts at private meetings were rejected unless they conformed to public spectacle conditions, excluding Nicola and reinforcing the divide.
Brooklyn drew attention to the family’s seeming prioritization of brand image and publicity over genuine familial affection, lamenting their lack of support for his wife’s charitable work during the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
He concluded by asserting that stepping away from the family has alleviated his lifelong anxiety and brought peace to their lives, insisting that he and Nicola seek privacy, happiness, and a life free from media manipulation.
