Daisy May Cooper Opens Up About Getting Fired for Theft Before Pursuing Acting

Daisy May Cooper has revealed a part of her past that involves getting sacked from a previous job due to stealing stock. Before joining the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, the 38-year-old held various jobs, including positions at Wetherspoon and House of Fraser. In a Making A Scene podcast with Matt Lucas and David Walliams, Cooper admitted to being dismissed from multiple jobs for reasons such as stealing and absenteeism. She disclosed taking a substantial amount of merchandise from House of Fraser and selling it, although she avoided getting caught. Cooper also spoke about the financial difficulties she faced during her time at RADA and her subsequent struggles with alcohol, eventual rehabilitation, and her successful career in television.

Daisy May Cooper made her mark in the entertainment industry by co-creating and starring in the hit BBC sitcom, This Country, which won a BAFTA for Best Comedy and garnered her the Best Female Comedy Performance award. Following the series' conclusion, she ventured into portraying a struggling mother in the show Am I Being Unreasonable? and released a book, Hexy B****, delving into the paranormal. Cooper has been vocal about her childhood experiences with the paranormal, sharing the impact of her mother’s attempts to find solace after a family tragedy.
