A serious collision between a cyclist and a bus disrupted rush hour traffic in Cheltenham on Monday morning, March 16. The crash occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. on Prestbury Road near the junction with Whaddon Road.
Emergency services were alerted by the ambulance service, and Gloucestershire Police responded to the scene. The cyclist, a woman in her 30s, sustained serious injuries and was initially taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital before being transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for further treatment.
The bus driver, a man, was unharmed, and no passengers were on board at the time of the collision. Authorities have implemented road closures at Prestbury Road and Whaddon Road, which are expected to remain in place throughout most of the day.

Police have interviewed witnesses but are urging anyone who has not yet come forward, including those with dashcam footage, to assist in the investigation. Information can be submitted to Gloucestershire Police online by quoting incident number 51 of March 16.
