Couple to Open Boutique Pub in the Cotswolds – Patience Required Until Summer 2026

Sam and Georgie Pearman are set to unveil their latest venture, The Wild Duck Inn, a charming boutique pub and hotel nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2026, this new establishment marks the third addition to their acclaimed Country Creatures portfolio.

Located in Drakes Island, Cirencester, The Wild Duck Inn will join the ranks of The Double Red Duke and The Mason’s Arms in Clanfield, both beloved spots within the Pearmans’ family-run collection. The inn itself is a beautifully restored 16th-century coaching house situated in the serene village of Ewen, Southern Cotswolds.

Steeped in history, The Wild Duck originally served as the gardener’s cottage for the nearby Ewen Manor. The Grade II listed structure boasts classic Cotswold stone walls adorned with ivy, and a distinctive flying duck clock tucked amid the foliage. It has long been a treasured gathering place for locals, ramblers, and visitors alike.

The Pearmans plan to preserve the pub’s historic charm, featuring low beamed ceilings, roaring fires, and a welcoming bar that has silently witnessed centuries of tales told by farmers and travelers. Guests will find 20 newly designed bedrooms, thoughtfully crafted by Georgie Pearman with the help of local artisans. These rooms will feature king-sized beds, roll-top baths, and carefully selected antiques to enhance the inn’s cozy atmosphere.

Reflecting their commitment to the region, the menu will showcase the finest seasonal and local ingredients from Gloucestershire and the wider Cotswolds. This dedication to quality produce and heartfelt hospitality promises to create a destination well worth the wait.
