Countryfile’s Adam Henson Shares Joyful Update on Cotswolds Piglets

Countryfile presenter and Cotswolds farmer Adam Henson has shared an exciting announcement that has warmed the hearts of his followers. The 60-year-old, who has been a staple of the BBC programme since 2001, posted a video revealing the birth of 14 piglets at his Gloucestershire farm.

Adam, who also contributes to various BBC shows and radio programmes, manages Bemborough Farm, which doubles as the popular Cotswolds Farm Park. The farm welcomes thousands of visitors each year and serves as his home base for farming operations.

In his recent Instagram video, Adam explained the late-night routine of checking on the animals before bed. Spotting one of his Landrace sows close to farrowing, he detailed the careful setup in their “freedom farrowing pen.” This design, featuring protective bars, helps keep the vulnerable piglets safe from accidental crushing while allowing the sow to rest and nurse comfortably.

Adam proudly reported that the sow had given birth to 14 healthy piglets and had passed the afterbirth, indicating a successful delivery. He expressed his satisfaction, saying he could now rest easier, knowing the animals were well cared for.

The post quickly attracted positive responses, with fans expressing their affection for the piglets and admiration for the dedication of farmers. Comments ranged from joyful thanks to appreciation for the care given to the animals.

This update follows Adam’s recent concerns on another episode of Countryfile, where he stressed the importance of microchipping and DNA sampling for newly born foals to support breed conservation efforts, particularly for the rare Exmoor Pony.

Adam Henson’s heartfelt updates continue to highlight the dedication and passion behind modern farming, resonating with a wide audience beyond his television role.
