Countryfile viewers were both shocked and amused when presenter Adam Henson was unexpectedly knocked over by a powerful sheep while filming on his farm.
The incident occurred during a routine inspection of Romney Rams at Adam’s Gloucestershire farm, shortly before releasing the rams into the fields alongside the ewes. A video posted on the official Countryfile Instagram captured the moment, showing Adam attempting to carefully check the sheep’s condition.
As Adam explains, “I’ve got to check the boys over first, and the Romney… oh my word, they are powerful sheep!” Suddenly, one of the rams charges him, colliding forcefully and sending Adam sprawling into a metal fence. His surprised exclamation—and a swear word—are clearly audible as he recovers from the unexpected shove.

He later remarks, “The way to control a sheep is to hold them under the chin, but he got the better of me!”
Viewers quickly took to the comments, expressing surprise and amusement at hearing Adam swear, something rare for the usually composed presenter. One fan wrote, “The fact that @adamhenson_ swore has made my day,” while another added laughing emojis, noting, “I don’t think we’ve heard Adam swear before!”
