Adam Henson, the beloved Countryfile presenter and seasoned Gloucestershire farmer, has delighted fans with an exciting announcement from his Cotswolds farm. At 60 years old, Adam remains a familiar face on the BBC, having been a part of Countryfile since 2001, and contributing his farming expertise across various shows, including Countryfile Summer Diaries, Inside Out, and Radio 4’s Farming Today.
From his base at Bemborough Farm, which also operates as the popular Cotswolds Farm Park, Adam shares a glimpse into farm life with his followers. On February 1st, he took to Instagram to reveal the birth of 14 new piglets, marking a joyful moment for the farm and its supporters.
In a candid video, Adam explained how he knew one of their Landrace sows was close to farrowing, noting the telltale signs such as a large udder full of milk. He showed viewers the “freedom farrowing pen,” designed to protect the tiny piglets by giving them a warm area to feed safely while preventing accidental crushing by the much larger sow.

Adam happily reported that the sow had cleansed, a sign that she had passed the afterbirth and was doing well. “It’s a job well done,” he said, adding reassurance to fellow farmers and animal lovers alike that the piglets were thriving.
Fans flooded the post with messages of admiration and thanks. One wrote, “Good morning Adam, thank you for showing us lovely, sweet piglets.” Another commented, “I found myself instantly smiling at this. Thank you!” Many praised the attentive care given to the animals, appreciating the vital role farmers play in our daily lives.
This announcement follows Adam’s recent reminder about the importance of microchipping and registering new foals on his farm, especially highlighting his dedication to conserving rare breeds such as the Exmoor Pony.
For fans of British farming and country life, Adam Henson continues to be a trusted and warm voice, sharing authentic moments from his farm and educating viewers on the intricacies of modern agriculture.
