Cotswolds Water Park Inland Beach Ready for a Busy Summer Season

The long-awaited sunshine has finally arrived, just in time for the bank holiday weekend, making it the perfect opportunity to soak up the sun and enjoy the outdoors. Whether you’re sunbathing, building sandcastles, firing up a barbecue, or playing games on the beach, Cotswold Country Park and Beach promises a memorable day out.

As the largest inland beach in the UK, Cotswold Country Park and Beach offers a wide range of activities to suit all interests. Visitors can take a refreshing dip with wild swimming, enjoy a leisurely paddle on the lake, embark on a romantic pedalo trip for two, or challenge friends and family to a round of mini golf.

The park opened for the 2026 season on March 27, and tickets are now available for purchase. Admission grants access to the expansive beach, designated swimming areas, playgrounds, lakeside walks, and the onsite food outlets and shop. A spokesperson said, “Enjoy the park in your own time, in your own way.”

This year, the popular AquaVenture inflatable aquapark has been completely redesigned with eight brand-new obstacles added to the existing 20, including bouncing pillows, rolling balls, bridges, ropes, trampolines, and tunnels, delivering even more excitement for visitors of all ages.

Cotswold Country Park and Beach features two separate beaches: the Main Beach on the South Lake and the Children’s Beach Lagoon, both complemented by an adventure playground and junior climbing walls right by the shore. Various watercraft like rowing boats and mini electric port boats are available for hire, along with pedal karts for extra fun.

When it’s time to refuel, guests can choose from three dining options: The Beach Shack and Café, Roma’s Pizzeria, and the Ice Cream Hut. The Beach Shack offers lakeside dining with a spacious covered area on the boardwalk, while visitors are also welcome to bring their own picnics or rent a barbecue to complete their day at the beach.

Beyond the beach, the 150-lake complex offers additional water activities, including kayaking, paddleboarding, and zorbing, providing something for everyone.

Advance booking is essential via the official website, where both single-entry and summer season tickets are available. Ticket prices start at around £3.50 for pedestrians and cyclists, and approximately £10 for vehicles carrying up to five people, with rates varying by season. Notably, at least 10% of each admission fee supports the Cotswold Lakes Trust, dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and wildlife of the Cotswold Water Park.

For those planning to extend their visit, nearby accommodation options include Corinium Cottage in central Cirencester, featuring a cozy courtyard and wood burner, and Hayloft Cottage, a charming former stable conversion with private outdoor space, both ideal bases for exploring the area.

Cotswold Country Park and Beach is located at Spratsgate Lane, Shorncote, Gloucestershire, GL7 6DF. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy this unique inland beach destination this summer.
