The long-awaited sunshine has arrived just in time for the upcoming bank holiday weekend, making Cotswold Country Park and Beach the perfect destination for a day outdoors. Whether you’re looking to sunbathe, build sandcastles, fire up a barbecue, or enjoy lively beach games, this inland beach has it all.
Cotswold Country Park and Beach is the largest inland beach in the UK, offering a wide variety of activities for visitors of all ages. From wild swimming and relaxed paddling in the lake to romantic pedalo rides and competitive mini golf with family and friends, there’s something for everyone.
The park officially reopened for the 2026 season on March 27. A spokesperson shared: “Experience an incredible day at the beach in the heart of the Cotswolds. Buy your admission ticket now to access the beach, swimming areas, playgrounds, lake walks, and our food outlets, shop, and activity zones! Enjoy the park your way, at your own pace.”
One of the park’s highlights this year is the AquaVenture inflatable aquapark, which has been completely redesigned with eight new obstacles for 2026. The attraction now boasts 20 action-packed challenges including bouncing pillows, rolling balls, bridges, ropes, trampolines, and tunnels.
Facilities at Cotswold Country Park and Beach include two distinct beaches—the Main Beach on the South Lake and the Children’s Beach Lagoon. Adjacent to the beaches, visitors can find an adventure playground and junior climbing walls. Rowing boats, electric mini port boats, and pedal karts are also available for hire.
Dining options feature three on-site eateries: the Beach Shack and Café, Roma’s Pizzeria, and the Ice Cream Hut—all offering delicious treats with scenic lakeside views. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnics or even rent a barbecue to create a nostalgic beachside atmosphere.
The park is nestled among more than 150 lakes within the Cotswold Water Park, providing endless water-based activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, zorbing, and more.
Admission requires advance booking via the Cotswold Country Park and Beach website, where summer season tickets can also be purchased. Every ticket includes entry to the beach, swimming zones, playgrounds, lake walks, food outlets, the shop, and activity areas. A minimum of 10% of each admission fee supports the Cotswold Lakes Trust, a charity dedicated to preserving the park’s natural beauty for wildlife and visitors.
Entry prices start at approximately £3.50 for pedestrians and cyclists, and around £10 per vehicle (up to five people), with rates varying based on season. Early booking is strongly recommended to secure your preferred date.
