Parents at several Cotswolds schools have reportedly received letters outlining new guidelines following the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, in the region. The correspondence, revealed by a royal commentator, aims to prepare local families for the arrival of the Sussexes' children, Prince Archie, aged seven, and Princess Lilibet.
Having recently returned from the United States, where the family lived in California, the Duke and Duchess are understood to be residing in a private, non-royal home within the Cotswolds. Ahead of their children beginning school locally, educational authorities have communicated with nearby residents regarding updated school policies concerning high-profile pupils.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield, speaking to the US publication Page Six, explained that the letters emphasised the potential for increased public and media attention on certain families. The schools conveyed their commitment to maintaining a safe, happy, and private environment for all students.

The communication also reminded parents and carers not to photograph or film other children without explicit permission or share images or details about pupils and their families on social media, aiming to protect the privacy of all involved.
Ms Schofield further reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had considered multiple schools before finalising their choice for their children’s education. Harry and Meghan’s initial move to Montecito, California, followed their decision in 2020 to step back from official royal duties. Their return to the UK is expected to be for an extended period.
