Nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, Pit Kitchen at Todenham Farm near Moreton-in-Marsh is turning up the heat this winter with the launch of an inviting covered dining area and an enticing new rotisserie-style menu.
The restaurant has introduced an 80-cover all-weather marquee, thoughtfully designed with roaring log fires, rustic wooden tables, and soft festoon lighting to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This new space maintains the signature open-fire cooking ambiance that Pit Kitchen is renowned for, offering diners a snug retreat regardless of the weather.
Set beneath the iconic barn of the site, the marquee is adorned with a 45-foot hessian runner, hanging hops, and lush greenery, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to a natural and rustic aesthetic.

Debuting on Thursday, November 6, the winter menu highlights hearty rotisserie dishes such as quarter or half rotisserie chicken, slow-cooked pork belly, and classic sides including homemade chips, sourdough flatbreads, and herby short-grain rice. Each dish is complemented by a choice of spiced, herby, or creamy sauces to enhance the flavors.
The dessert selection offers indulgent options like mille-feuille, dark chocolate mousse, and a variety of homemade doughnuts in unique flavors such as sticky toffee, treacle, and blood orange with pistachio.
Seasonal and locally sourced ingredients take center stage, with meats supplied by Todenham Manor Farm and fresh vegetables from Drinkwater Farm.
Head chef George Uren, trained at River Cottage Farm and experienced in kitchens across the UK and Australia, shared, “Our goal has always been to create a space where guests can enjoy great food no matter the weather. This marquee allows us to do just that, fostering a warm and relaxed environment for comforting meals surrounded by good company, drinks, music, and the smell of the fire.”
Since its inception in 2019 by friends George Uren and Adam Thomas, Pit Kitchen has been celebrated for its globally inspired small plates and relaxed communal dining setting.
Adam Thomas added, “Bringing people together is at the heart of Pit Kitchen. With this new space, we can share that experience all year round. We’re excited to see it buzzing through winter, especially as we approach the festive season.”
The winter menu is available Thursday through Sunday throughout the season. Reservations can be made online, with walk-ins accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
