Gloucestershire Police have issued a warning to residents across the Cotswolds following a surge of 12 high-value burglaries reported within just one month. These incidents, affecting homes in Saintbury, Winchcombe, Icomb, Andoversford, and other areas, involved the theft of valuable items such as jewellery, watches, cash, handbags, antiques, silverware, and safes.
Most break-ins occurred between 4:30 pm and 11:00 pm, suggesting the properties were deliberately targeted by offenders. Authorities are currently conducting thorough forensic investigations, house-to-house visits, and reviewing CCTV footage to determine if these crimes are connected.
In response, police have increased proactive patrols throughout the Cotswolds and urge residents to stay vigilant. They encourage the public to report any suspicious behavior, including individuals scouting properties by slowly driving past, and to reassess their home security measures.

The force is appealing for anyone with information or who possesses relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Gloucestershire Police, quoting incident 106 of 26 February. In emergencies, residents should dial 999 immediately if a crime is in progress, a suspect is nearby, or if there is an imminent threat to safety or property.
To help protect homes and outbuildings, officers recommend adopting a ‘WIDE’ security approach, using a combination of security devices to safeguard houses, sheds, and garages. Securing back gates and entry points is also strongly advised.
By taking these precautions and remaining alert, Cotswolds residents can help reduce the risk of burglary and support ongoing investigations.
