Oasis legend Liam Gallagher has confirmed his move to the Cotswolds, purchasing the £4 million Dockem House in the village of Coates, near Cirencester. Previously home to Arsenal icon Tony Adams, the property now marks a new chapter for the 53-year-old rock star.
Local pub landlords are already excited about having such a high-profile resident nearby. Luke Bartels, drummer and manager of the Elliot Arms in South Cerney, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Liam to his pub. “It would be fantastic if he dropped by. We’d be happy to drown him in Madri,” said Luke, referring to the popular local cider. As both a musician and a longtime fan of Oasis, Luke hopes to organize a jam session should Liam be up for it.
Announcing his arrival on X (formerly Twitter), Liam wrote, “To all the BEAUTIFUL people from the Cotswolds I come in peace you won’t even know I’m there I’m not like all those divvy celebrities who like to show off I’m LO FI as you were LG x.”

Luke, who grew up inspired by the Gallagher brothers’ music and style, is thrilled about Liam’s decision to embrace the quieter rural lifestyle. “Welcome to the peaceful life,” he said. “The Cotswolds are calm and chill. This will be great for all the pubs around here—big warm welcome.”
Another local figure, Guido Desserafino, owner of The Golden Farm in Cirencester and a lifelong Oasis fan, hopes Liam might visit his establishment for one of its famed roast dinners. “It would be wonderful to shake his hand and invite him for a pint. We’re open to whatever he wants,” Guido said. He believes that Liam’s arrival will be a positive addition to the area, bringing business and vibrancy.
Guido reflected on why the Cotswolds appeals to celebrities like Liam: “It’s a beautiful area with stunning pubs and a relaxed vibe. For busy stars, it’s an ideal getaway where they can enjoy a good pint, take a walk, and unwind.”
Coates is a small village, home to around 500 people, making it an intimate community for someone seeking privacy yet camaraderie. With Liam Gallagher joining its ranks, the local pubs and residents are looking forward to sharing a toast with one of rock’s enduring icons.
