Cotswold Holiday Cottages Receive £100k Revamp

Cotswold holiday cottages located in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, have undergone a substantial £100,000 refurbishment. The four one-bedroom cottages have been upgraded with fully renovated kitchens and bathrooms, along with new beds, sofas, and furnishings.

Each cottage can now accommodate up to four guests, with a double bedroom and a newly-added sofa bed. The addition of highchairs and cots also enhances the convenience for parents staying at the cottages.

The renovation, carried out by Gloucestershire contractors, was completed within five weeks.

Richard Baldelli, the general manager at Cotswold Cottages, expressed excitement about the newly refurbished cottages. He emphasized the goal of preserving the traditional Cotswold aesthetic while integrating modern comfort. The cottages retain the exposed Cotswold stone and original beams, creating a contemporary cottage feel and providing a warm, stylish retreat for guests to relax in comfort.

The largest property, Stepping Stones, a three-bedroom cottage accommodating up to five guests, has been refreshed with new soft furnishings to elevate comfort and style. Guests staying at Cotswold Cottages receive complimentary entry to the nearby Cotswold Motoring Museum and Toy Collection, which houses the original Brum and a captivating array of motoring memorabilia.

An investment of £200,000 has been made to transform the on-site gift shop at the museum, now featuring a car-and-garage theme that aligns with the museum’s motoring heritage. The revamped space also offers a refreshed area for visitors to purchase museum tickets, car-themed gifts, and Cotswolds souvenirs.
