Clarkson’s Farm Star Harriet Cowan’s Bold Reply to Trolls Telling Her to ‘Ditch Makeup’

Jeremy Clarkson’s newest team member, Harriet Cowan, has swiftly become a standout figure on Clarkson’s Farm. Joining during the show’s fourth season, 24-year-old Harriet brought not only enthusiasm but substantial agricultural knowledge, having learned the ropes from her father since childhood.

Harriet’s dedication earned her a spot on the popular farming series, which streams on Amazon Prime Video. She first appeared in the initial four episodes released on May 23, with additional episodes continuing through early June.

Called in to help at Diddly Squat Farm while farm manager Kaleb Cooper was away, Harriet quickly won over viewers with her authentic passion and fresh perspective, challenging traditional ideas about what a female farmer looks like.

However, Harriet’s presence hasn’t been without criticism. Some social media commentators targeted her for wearing makeup, suggesting it was unsuitable for farming. Harriet addressed these trolls head-on in a TikTok video, replying with a playful dance and lip-sync to Selena Gomez’s “Hands To Myself.” Her caption was a succinct and powerful four-word statement: “Farmers wear makeup too.”

In a candid BBC Breakfast News interview, Harriet expanded on these outdated stereotypes. “Just because I’m a small blonde who likes to curl her hair and wear makeup doesn’t mean I can’t be a farmer,” she said. “It’s about changing what people think a farmer is — and that won’t stop me from farming. You’re never getting me off this place!”

Despite her rising recognition, Harriet remains grounded. She expressed surprise at the public’s interest in her life, calling it “just my little life.” She described her daily routine simply as farming and working, amazed by the attention she and other cast members receive.

Looking to the future, Harriet left the possibility open for returning to Clarkson’s Farm. “We’ve always kept it open,” she noted. “I’m here if he needs me, but no firm plans right now.”

Harriet Cowan’s poised rebuttal and dedication continue to redefine the image of modern farming, proving that passion and personal style can coexist.
