Clarkson’s Farm Series Six Scheduled for Summer 2027 Premiere, Planning Documents Confirm

The popular reality TV show Clarkson’s Farm is gearing up for its sixth series, which is slated to air in the summer of 2027, according to recently submitted planning documents. The show, which chronicles former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson and his team’s efforts to manage Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire, returns after the release of its fifth season this June on Prime Video.

In February, Clarkson revealed in his Sunday Times column that filming for the sixth series had been paused due to unfavorable weather conditions. However, plans filed with West Oxfordshire District Council indicate that the upcoming series is firmly on track for release next year.

Since its debut in 2021, Clarkson’s Farm has spotlighted the everyday realities and challenges faced by British farmers, emphasizing the financial burdens of maintaining a working farm. In 2023, a dispute arose between Clarkson and the council regarding the use of land adjacent to his farm shop for additional car parking. The planning inspector ultimately granted permission for a three-year period.

Now, Clarkson is seeking an extension of that permission through to 2030, citing the continued popularity of the farm shop and ongoing production of the series. A planning consultant representing Clarkson noted that the association with the popular television show creates a unique, time-sensitive demand for parking facilities.

“At the time of the appeal, the second series had just aired and the show was renewed for a third. The three-year limit was based on monitoring demand if the series ended then,” the consultant explained. “As the show is now renewed through the fifth series and series six is commissioned, we request an extension to December 31, 2030, allowing adequate time to monitor and review demand.”

Clarkson acquired the farm — formerly known as Curdle Hill Farm and located in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty — around 20 years ago. He took over direct management in 2019, rebranding it as Diddly Squat Farm due to its poor productivity. Despite early setbacks, including the closure of a restaurant opened without planning approval, Clarkson has since established the Farmers' Dog pub, which sells produce sourced from British farms.

An outspoken advocate for farmers, Clarkson also participated in a 2024 London protest against government plans to impose inheritance tax on farmland, reinforcing his commitment to the agricultural community.
