Clarkson’s Farm Series Six Scheduled for Summer 2027, Planning Documents Confirm

The much-loved TV show Clarkson’s Farm is set to return for a sixth series in the summer of 2027, according to newly released planning documents. The hit reality series follows former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson as he manages the ups and downs of running his Diddly Squat Farm, located near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire.

Fans can look forward to the fifth series premiering on Prime Video this June. However, Clarkson revealed in his Sunday Times column earlier this year that production of the sixth series was temporarily paused due to challenging weather conditions.

Despite the delay, official documents submitted to West Oxfordshire District Council reveal that the next series is fully commissioned and expected to air in 2027. These planning submissions request an extension for the use of adjacent land for car parking, reflecting the ongoing popularity of the farm shop tied to the show.

The series, which debuted in 2021, spotlights the real difficulties faced by British farmers and the financial realities of running a farm. In 2023, a planning dispute over the use of land next to the farm shop was resolved, allowing temporary parking permissions for three years to accommodate visitors attracted by the show.

Clarkson is now petitioning for this extension to be lengthened until 2030 to support ongoing operations and future series. A planning consultant representing Clarkson explained that the parking demand is directly linked to the popularity of the TV programme: “The inspector clearly identified that the association with a popular current television programme is a unique circumstance which generates a time-limited demand.”

The requested extension would allow three more years following the anticipated airing of series six in 2027, providing time to monitor visitor numbers and adjust facilities accordingly. The council will review the application before making a decision.

Clarkson acquired the farm nearly 20 years ago, renaming it Diddly Squat Farm in 2019 after initially struggling with production. Since then, he has expanded the site’s operations by opening a farm shop and other ventures, including the Farmers’ Dog pub, which supports British farmers by promoting locally sourced produce.

Renowned for his outspoken support of farming communities, Clarkson also made headlines last year for attending protests against proposed inheritance tax changes affecting farmland. With the show’s continued success, Clarkson’s Farm remains a unique blend of entertainment and insight into rural life in the UK.
