A Hereford Chinese restaurant, Planet Buffet, is at risk of losing its late-night food and drink license after two men were arrested on immigration offences. The restaurant is currently permitted to sell alcohol until 11pm, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, during which it can also serve hot food.
Following the arrests in February by a police-led operation, the Herefordshire Council licensing officers have proposed revoking Planet Buffet’s drinks and late food license. A consultation with authorities and the public has led the council to pass the case to be decided by its licensing sub-committee of councillors on Friday, May 2. However, the council has cited legal measures to withhold specific information related to the case in the interest of the prevention, investigation, or prosecution of crime.
