A young girl was hospitalized after being struck by a car on the A38 Tewkesbury Road in Twigworth, near Gloucester, yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the scene around 4:15 pm on Wednesday, May 6, following reports of a collision involving a child pedestrian and a vehicle.
The injured girl was promptly transported to Bristol Children’s Hospital for medical treatment. Officials confirmed her injuries were serious but not life-threatening or life-altering.

Due to the accident, Tewkesbury Road was temporarily closed to traffic while emergency responders attended the scene. The road reopened by approximately 5:30 pm.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported significant delays, noting that the A38 was blocked in both directions from Brook Lane to Down Hatherley Lane during the closure.
A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said, “We were called at around 4.15 pm concerning a collision between a child pedestrian and a car on the A38 Tewkesbury Road in Twigworth. The pedestrian was taken for treatment, and the road remained closed until emergency services had cleared the incident around 5.30 pm.”
