Child Hospitalized After Being Struck by E-Scooter in Cheltenham

A five-year-old girl sustained a head injury after being hit by an e-scooter rider while walking along the Honeybourne Line in Cheltenham. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Monday, July 21, when the child was accompanied by two adults.

The collision caused the girl to fall to the ground, resulting in a head injury that required hospital treatment. The e-scooter rider also fell off his vehicle during the crash. After a brief conversation with the adults, the man left the scene heading towards the nearby train station without providing any contact information.

A witness captured a photograph of the rider as he fled. Gloucestershire Police have released the image and are appealing to the public for help identifying the individual involved. Officers urge anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the incident to contact them.

In an official statement, Gloucestershire Police said: “We are investigating a collision where a man riding an e-scooter struck a child walking along the Honeybourne Line. The rider left the scene without exchanging details. We ask the public to assist us by identifying the man in the released image. Please contact police with any information.”
