A cherished fixture in Cheltenham’s community, The Play Farm soft play centre located in The Brewery Quarter, is closing its doors this Sunday, November 9th, after 13 years of bringing joy to local families.
The closure marks the end of an era for many parents and children who have enjoyed countless birthday parties, rainy-day play sessions, and first soft-play experiences at the centre. The management team shared a heartfelt farewell message, thanking all the families for their unwavering support and the treasured memories made over the years.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the end of our chapter here after 8 years under this management, and 13 years of The Play Farm at this location,” the message read. “We’ve had the privilege of hosting tens of thousands of enthusiastic youngsters and celebrating thousands of birthday parties, witnessing the pure delight when candles were blown out and songs were sung.”

The team acknowledged the challenges of running a small business but expressed immense gratitude to all who visited and supported the centre. They urged customers with bookings to expect full refunds and encouraged everyone to come in for a final visit before the closing day.
Looking ahead, a new owner will take over The Play Farm and will close the venue for several weeks to prepare for a relaunch with a fresh brand and renewed enthusiasm. The play centre will return, ready to serve Cheltenham’s next generation of young visitors.
Community members responded emotionally to the announcement. One parent reflected, “I took my daughter when you first opened; she’s 19 now. It’s sad, but I’m glad it will stay open under new management.” Others praised the inclusive food options and highlighted The Play Farm as a relaxing space for both children and parents.
Comments highlighted the centre’s impact, with one saying, “Best in town for kids’ parties,” and another expressing appreciation for the staff’s dedication and the countless joyful memories created there.
As The Play Farm closes its current chapter, Cheltenham looks forward to the new beginning that awaits this beloved play venue.
