Cheltenham’s Dom Joly Celebrates 25 Years of Trigger Happy TV with Nationwide Tour

Cheltenham-born comedian Dom Joly is gearing up to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his groundbreaking hidden-camera series, Trigger Happy TV, with a nationwide tour that includes a highly anticipated performance in his hometown.

Originally launched on Channel 4 in 2000, Trigger Happy TV catapulted Joly to international fame, airing two series and reaching audiences in over 80 countries. Now, at 58 years old, Joly is bringing his beloved show back to life in a live format on a 100-date tour running from September 2026 through June 2027.

This unique tour promises fans an immersive experience featuring original characters, unseen footage, bloopers, and exciting new material. Audiences can look forward to revisiting some of the show’s most memorable moments, such as The Giant Snail’s slow zebra crossing adventures, Joly’s humorous run-in as a KGB spy on the hunt for the elusive “Grey Squirrel,” and the story behind the iconic oversized mobile phone.

The tour follows Dom Joly’s recent successful appearance at the Royal Albert Hall during the Teenage Cancer Trust comedy night, where he performed alongside esteemed comedians like Maisie Adam, Jack Dee, and Dara Ó Briain, delighting fans by reviving his classic Trigger Happy characters.

A long-time Cheltenham resident since 2019, Joly also hosts the popular monthly comedy night ‘Dom Joly’s SpeakeaZy’ at Steam and Whistle, an independent pub near Cheltenham Spa station. The event regularly sells out weeks in advance, highlighting Joly’s strong local following.

Reflecting on the upcoming tour, Joly shared, “I can’t believe it’s been twenty-five years since I first started shouting into a giant mobile phone. Trigger Happy TV changed my life, and bringing these characters back for a massive anniversary tour is a total blast. Cheltenham is my home, and while SpeakeaZy has been amazing, bringing the full Trigger Happy chaos to the Parabola Arts Centre is going to be something special. I can’t wait to share new mayhem with my hometown.”

Dom Joly will perform at Cheltenham’s Parabola Arts Centre on Saturday, December 5, 2026. Renowned for its superb acoustics and intimate setting, the venue offers the perfect stage for two hours of hilarious hidden-camera entertainment.

Tickets are available now starting at £30.25.
