Isaac Hutchinson, Cheltenham Town’s leading scorer, has been honored with a place in the League Two Team of the Season for 2025/26, as announced at the EFL Awards.
The attacking midfielder has impressed throughout the campaign, netting 20 goals in total, 18 of which came while representing the Robins. Hutchinson joined Cheltenham on loan from Bristol Rovers at the end of the summer transfer window, briefly returning to his parent club mid-season before rejoining Cheltenham.
His contributions have been vital in Cheltenham’s fight to escape the relegation zone. Hutchinson scored 15 league goals under manager Steve Cotterill, playing a key role in the team’s resurgence. The Robins recently secured their EFL status with a convincing 4-0 victory over Walsall, followed by home wins against Gillingham and Newport County AFC. These results lifted Cheltenham to 17th place in the League Two standings, with three games remaining.

Hutchinson is also the clear frontrunner to claim Cheltenham’s Supporters’ Player of the Year award, to be presented before the final match against Colchester United on May 2. At 26 years old, he would follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner, loanee Sam Stubbs.
Joining Hutchinson in this season’s League Two XI are goalkeeper Mathew Hudson (Oldham Athletic), defenders Jack Sanders (MK Dons), Omar Sowunmi (Bromley), and Kelland Watts (Cambridge United); midfielders Harvey Rodgers (Grimsby Town), Liam Kelly (MK Dons), Sammy Braybrooke (Newport County/Chesterfield), and Mitch Pinnock (Bromley); plus forwards Aaron Drinan (Swindon Town) and Callum Paterson (MK Dons).
Cheltenham Town has a proud history of players making the League Two team selections, including Michael Duff, Marlon Pack, Ben Tozer, Will Boyle, and Chris Hussey.
Additionally, young goalkeeper Mamadou Diallo was shortlisted for the LFE League Two Apprentice of the Season award, seeking to continue Cheltenham’s tradition of developing talent following previous winners Kyle Haynes and Felix Miles. However, Diallo narrowly missed out to Ollie Dewsbury of Bristol Rovers.
Cheltenham Town will next face Tranmere Rovers at home on Tuesday evening, kick-off at 7.45pm.
