Isaac Hutchinson, Cheltenham Town’s standout midfielder and leading scorer, has earned a coveted spot in the League Two Team of the Season for 2025/26, as revealed at the EFL Awards.
Since joining the Robins on loan from Bristol Rovers late last summer, Hutchinson has made a remarkable impact, scoring 20 goals across all competitions—18 of those for Cheltenham Town. Despite a brief recall by Bristol Rovers midway through the season, he returned to Whaddon Road and continued his impressive form, netting 15 times in League Two alone.
Hutchinson’s contributions have been pivotal in Cheltenham’s rise away from the relegation zone. The team secured their place in the league with a commanding 4-0 victory against Walsall, followed by successive home wins over Gillingham and Newport County, climbing to 17th in the table with three fixtures remaining.

The 26-year-old midfielder is also the frontrunner for Cheltenham’s Supporters’ Player of the Year award, which will be presented ahead of the final match against Colchester United on May 2. If victorious, Hutchinson will join Sam Stubbs as the second consecutive loanee to receive this honor.
Joining Hutchinson in the League Two XI are goalkeeper Mathew Hudson (Oldham Athletic); defenders Jack Sanders (MK Dons), Omar Sowunmi (Bromley), and Kelland Watts (Cambridge United); midfielders Harvey Rodgers (Grimsby Town), Liam Kelly (MK Dons), Sammy Braybrooke (Newport County/Chesterfield), and Mitch Pinnock (Bromley); and forwards Aaron Drinan (Swindon Town) and Callum Paterson (MK Dons).
Cheltenham Town has a proud history of players featured in League Two select teams, including Michael Duff, Marlon Pack, Ben Tozer, Will Boyle, and Chris Hussey.
Additionally, goalkeeper Mamadou Diallo was shortlisted for the LFE League Two Apprentice of the Season award, aiming to follow Cheltenham’s previous winners Kyle Haynes and Felix Miles. While Diallo ultimately missed out to Bristol Rovers’ Ollie Dewsbury, his recognition highlights the club’s promising talent pipeline.
Cheltenham Town will next host Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday evening at 7:45 pm in their penultimate home fixture of the season.
