Cheltenham Town Women Seek Victory in Plate Final Showdown with Bournemouth

Cheltenham Town Women are gearing up for an exciting finale to their season as they prepare to face AFC Bournemouth Women in the Women’s National League Plate final this Sunday (2pm kick-off).

In their journey to the final, Cheltenham secured a 4-1 victory over Boldmere St Michaels in the first round, with goals from Libby Bell, Connie Pengelly, Doris Greenwood, and Emily Owen. They proceeded to triumph over Wolves 2-1, and then secured a quarter-final win over Stockport and a 1-0 victory against Southampton Academy in the semi-final.

Following their recent 2-0 win over Lewes, which confirmed their WNL Southern Premier Division status, manager Tom Davies and his coaching staff have had a valuable extra week of preparation for the upcoming final, marking the team’s first final appearance in three years.

Cheltenham’s opponents, Bournemouth, have had an outstanding season, clinching promotion into the third tier for the first time, boasting an impressive unbeaten run of 47 games and securing notable victories on their road to the final.

The clash promises to be a thrilling encounter, and with both teams showcasing exceptional talent and determination, anticipation for the match continues to build.

The game will take place at Oxford City’s MGroup Stadium, OX3 0NQ, with tickets priced at £5 for Adults and free for concessions and Under-16s.
