Cheltenham Town Women Secure Goalkeeper Charlotte Haynes from Swansea City

Cheltenham Town Women have strengthened their squad with the signing of talented goalkeeper Charlotte Haynes from Swansea City. Haynes, who joined Swansea City in 2024 and competed in the Genero Adran Premier, is set to bring her experience and ambition to Tom Davies’ side ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Expressing enthusiasm for her new chapter, Haynes said, “I’m looking for a new challenge, and Cheltenham offers the perfect environment for me to develop and grow throughout the season. I’m really excited to get started.”

Prior to her stint at Swansea, Haynes made an impact in the Women’s National League Division One South-West with Keynsham Town Ladies, where she earned the Player of the Season award in the 2023/24 campaign.

Acknowledging the step up to Tier Three football, Haynes commented, “It’ll be tough with strong competition in this tier, but I’m focused on pushing myself to improve in every game and training session.”

Cheltenham Town Women enjoyed a historic 2024/25 season, reaching both the FAWNL Plate final and the Gloucestershire FA County Cup Final. Haynes highlighted these achievements as a key factor in her decision to join the Robins.

“There’s a fantastic setup at Cheltenham,” she said. “Their success last season didn’t go unnoticed and was definitely a major reason I decided to come here.”

Speaking directly to the supporters, Haynes humorously remarked, “I’m tall! But more importantly, I just want to be myself and enjoy playing football. Every day, every session, and every match is a chance to learn and to win—that’s why I’m here.”

Cheltenham Town Women continue their pre-season preparations with upcoming fixtures against Cardiff City on Sunday, June 29, and Leafield Athletic on Saturday, July 6.
