Cheltenham Town Women Name Ryan Marvin Dempsey as New Assistant Manager

Cheltenham Town Women have announced the appointment of Ryan Marvin Dempsey as their new assistant manager ahead of the 2025/26 season. Formerly head coach at Dulwich Hamlet, Dempsey brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the Robins’ coaching staff.

After departing Dulwich at the end of the last campaign, Dempsey initially planned to take a break from football. However, after conversations with Cheltenham Town Women’s manager Tom Davies, he was inspired by the club’s vision and ambition to continue growing and improving.

“I wasn’t expecting to jump straight back into coaching this soon,” Dempsey said. “But Tom’s passion and clear strategy for Cheltenham really excited me. I wanted my next role to be a step forward and a new challenge, and this opportunity fits perfectly. I’m eager to get started.”

Cheltenham Town Women enjoyed a successful 2024/25 season, and Dempsey believes the club is well-positioned to keep developing both on and off the pitch.

Dempsey’s coaching career started at Plymouth Argyle’s Development Centre before moving on to coaching roles in Bristol and at West Bromwich Albion. He later joined Fulham Football Club & Foundation in London, holding multiple positions. Afterward, he served as Head of Women’s Football at the University of East London and coached for Girls United. His tenure as Dulwich Hamlet’s head coach culminated in helping the club secure a solid mid-table finish in the FA Women’s National League Division One South East in the 2023/24 season.

With his diverse background and track record of success, Dempsey is set to be a valuable asset for Cheltenham Town Women as they aim to build on their recent achievements.
