Cheltenham Town to Host Buxton in FA Cup Second Round Clash

Cheltenham Town will face Buxton at home in the second round of the FA Cup, following their narrow 1-0 victory over Bradford City. Managed by Steve Cotterill, the Robins secured their spot after a hard-fought win against the League One side at home last Saturday. Buxton earned their place by defeating Chatham Town 2-1 after extra time.

The upcoming tie is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, December 6, with a prize purse of £79,500 awaiting the winner. The victorious club will also advance to the third round, gaining the opportunity to face teams from the Premier League and Championship.

This encounter marks the first-ever competitive meeting between Cheltenham Town and Buxton. Interestingly, Buxton’s squad features former Robins striker Callum Ebanks. Currently, Buxton compete in the National League North, which is two tiers below League Two, where Cheltenham Town plays. The Bucks sit sixth in their league, demonstrating strong form in non-league football.
