Cheltenham Town have strengthened their squad by signing midfielder Harry Ashfield on loan from Wrexham. The 19-year-old will join the League Two Robins, managed by Steve Cotterill, for the remainder of the season.
Ashfield has already made his Championship debut this campaign, coming on as a late substitute in Wrexham’s 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers on New Year’s Day. Earlier in the season, he scored in a memorable 3-2 EFL Cup win against Preston North End and started in the competition against Hull City. Additionally, Ashfield has gained valuable experience with six appearances in the EFL Trophy for Wrexham.
This signing marks Cheltenham Town’s fourth new addition during the January transfer window, following the arrivals of George Nurse, Cole Deeming, and Josh Davison. Meanwhile, forward Mo Faal from Wrexham is anticipated to join soon, alongside the return of midfielder Isaac Hutchinson from Bristol Rovers.
