Cheltenham Town Secure Wrexham Midfielder Harry Ashfield on Loan

Cheltenham Town have bolstered their squad by securing the loan signing of midfielder Harry Ashfield from Wrexham. The 19-year-old will stay with the League Two Robins, managed by Steve Cotterill, through the remainder of the season.

Ashfield made his Championship debut for Wrexham earlier this campaign, coming on as a late substitute for Oliver Rathbone in a 2-0 victory against Blackburn Rovers on New Year’s Day. He also made an impact in the EFL Cup, scoring a crucial goal in a thrilling 3-2 win over Preston North End and starting in their match against Hull City. Additionally, Ashfield has featured six times in the EFL Trophy for Wrexham.

This transfer marks Cheltenham’s fourth signing during the January window, joining George Nurse, Cole Deeming, and Josh Davison. Meanwhile, Wrexham forward Mo Faal is expected to follow Ashfield to Cheltenham, as is the potential return of Bristol Rovers midfielder Isaac Hutchinson.
