Cheltenham Town have announced the season-long loan signing of forward Kirsten Otchere from Leicester City. The 19-year-old forward enjoyed a productive pre-season with Leicester, scoring three goals against Bristol Rovers, Burton Albion, and Cadiz. He also contributed two assists in a 3-0 victory over Northampton Town, showcasing the potential he displayed during an impressive campaign with Leicester’s Under-21s last season.
Otchere made a significant impact in the 2025/26 season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists across 12 Premier League Two starts and four substitute appearances. His move marks Cheltenham’s seventh signing of the summer and their first addition on loan this transfer window.
Prior to Otchere’s arrival, the Robins secured several permanent signings including Charlie McCann, Jordan Shipley, Pierce Sweeney, Shaun McWilliams, Wyll Stanway, and Joe Tomlinson.

Speaking about his move, Otchere said: “I’m delighted to be joining Cheltenham Town and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a great opportunity for me at a brilliant club. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and playing first-team football, and I hope for a successful season.”
Manager Steve Cotterill welcomed the new signing, stating, “Kirsten is a player with a lot of potential and we’re pleased to bring him to the club. He’s hungry to learn, works hard, and possesses qualities that we believe will strengthen our attacking options. We’re looking forward to helping him develop during his time with us.”
Cheltenham Town face Championship side Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup first round this Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 5.30pm. Their League Two campaign will commence a week later with a home match against Rotherham United at 3pm.
