Cheltenham Town’s promising young goalkeeper Mamado Diallo has embarked on a one-month loan spell with Worcester City to further his development through regular senior football.
The 18-year-old spent the previous season as understudy to Joe Day, making two appearances in the EFL Trophy. Notably, Diallo saved a penalty during his senior debut at Plymouth Argyle, highlighting his potential between the sticks.
With the recent signing of Wyll Stanway from Barrow, Diallo has an opportunity to gain valuable match experience, which he will now seek at Southern League Premier Division Central side Worcester City. Worcester City are preparing to face Stamford in a home fixture this Saturday.

Diallo’s football journey began at Cheltenham Town’s youth academy, where he joined at under-nine level after being scouted by Roger Hyett. He also spent time in West Bromwich Albion’s academy before returning to Cheltenham as a scholar. His steady progression was acknowledged in March 2025 when he signed a professional contract with the Robins.
In addition to Diallo, Cheltenham Town have arranged loan moves for other academy talents: Harry Tustin has joined Hereford FC, while Sopuruchukwu Obieri is gaining experience at Evesham United.
Looking ahead, Cheltenham Town are set to play an away League Two fixture against Swindon Town this Saturday afternoon, kick-off at 3pm.
