Cheltenham Town is set to experience notable changes within its backroom staff as two key figures prepare to leave the club. Gavin Crowe, the club’s long-serving head of medical, will be departing to take up a new opportunity at another English Football League (EFL) club.
Crowe, 45, has been an integral part of Cheltenham Town since the 2015/16 season, joining just before the club secured the National League title. His extensive experience includes a stint at Bristol Rovers under manager Darrell Clarke, as well as roles as a sports therapist within Cheltenham’s academy and time with Kidderminster Harriers.
In addition, strength and conditioning coach Kyler Burns has confirmed he will be leaving Cheltenham Town this summer. Burns has accepted a similar position at Bristol Rovers, marking a return to a familiar club environment.

Burns took over from Sammy Gilchrist, who departed for Bristol City a year ago. His background includes working alongside Michael Flynn at Newport County AFC and Swindon Town, with a period at Dundee United as well. Beyond his club responsibilities, Burns also serves as a sports scientist for the Wales national team.
These departures mark a significant shift for Cheltenham Town’s support staff, as the club begins the process of rebuilding its medical and fitness teams ahead of the upcoming season.
