Cheltenham Town defenders James Wilson and Robbie Cundy have both activated appearance-related clauses in their contracts, securing extensions for the upcoming seasons, according to Gloucestershire Live.
Wilson, aged 37, who joined Cheltenham from Bristol Rovers last summer, has been a pivotal figure and captain for the Robins throughout the 2025/26 season, making an impressive 46 appearances. He had a brief loan spell at Cheltenham in 2013 while under contract with Bristol City.
Cundy, 28, arrived at the club in July after leaving Notts County. Initially, he struggled to make a significant impact in the first four months but found his footing following his halftime substitution in the 6-2 FA Cup second-round victory over Buxton in December. Since then, he has solidified his role alongside Wilson as Steve Cotterill’s preferred centre-back pairing. Unfortunately, Cundy missed the final three games of the season due to injury, with MK Dons loanee Sam Sherring stepping in as his replacement.

However, they have been invited back on Monday for further talks if they wish.
Goalkeeper/player-coach Joe Day remains under contract, alongside Jake Bickerstaff, Sopuruchukwu Obieri, and Mamadou Diallo. Additionally, Freddy Willcox and Harry Tustin will be offered new one-year contracts, while Tom King and Cameron Walters have been released.
