Cheltenham Town Centre Terror: Woman Arrested After Series of Violent Attacks

A chaotic series of attacks unfolded in Cheltenham town centre yesterday afternoon, as a woman allegedly grabbed a child and assaulted several strangers during a violent rampage.

Between 1pm and 4pm on Monday, June 1, multiple members of the public reported assaults by an unknown woman walking along High Street. Witnesses described disturbing incidents including a young mother and her child being forcibly grabbed outside Poundland, an elderly woman pushed to the ground near McDonald’s, and multiple other victims suffering physical attacks.

Gloucestershire Police confirmed the suspect, a woman in her 30s from Winchcombe, was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Following police enquiries, officers detailed the disturbing sequence of events: after grabbing the mother and child around 1:10pm, the woman pushed over an elderly lady, kicked a man, stole someone’s glasses, and later punched a man twice at the junction of Bath Road and Cedar Court Road.
