Cheltenham School Transformed by £2.5k Cash Boost

Greatfield Park Primary School in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, has unveiled a new edible garden and sensory space, courtesy of a generous £2,500 funding boost and dedicated volunteers. This transformation was made possible after the school won Severn Trent’s inaugural NeighbourGOOD award.

With the awarded grant and the contributions of volunteers, an overgrown nature area was revitalized into a vibrant educational space, complete with a rope bridge and wildflower patch. The new garden also aims to foster community engagement through workshops and an after-school gardening club, enhancing the school’s educational offerings.

Expressing gratitude towards Severn Trent and the volunteers, the school’s Parent Teacher Association emphasized the months of planning and collaborative effort that went into realizing their vision. Sally Freeman, Deputy Head at Greatfield, expressed excitement about the rejuvenated Outdoor Learning Area and its potential positive impact on the children’s well-being.
