Cheltenham Murder Investigation Deepens with Third Teen Arrest and Court Appearances

A murder investigation in Cheltenham has intensified with the arrest of a third teenager. On Monday, December 22, an 18-year-old man from Cheltenham was taken into police custody in connection with the death of a man in his 40s, which occurred in the St Paul’s area on Tuesday, December 16.

Details regarding the specific charges against the newly arrested suspect have not been disclosed. This development follows the earlier charges against two teenage boys, aged 15 and 17, who have already appeared in Bristol Crown Court.

The two boys face charges of murder, robbery, and possession of a bladed article. After their court appearance on December 22, they were remanded in custody until February 27, 2026.

Gloucestershire Police continue to appeal to the public for information that could aid the ongoing investigation. In an official statement, they confirmed the timeline and nature of the incident: officers were called to an alleyway between Albert Street and Hungerford Street in St Paul’s around 2:45 pm on December 16, where the victim was found and later pronounced dead. The incident is being treated as a suspected stabbing.

The Major Crime Investigation Team remains actively involved, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
