Karen Wala, the business manager of McDonald’s Cheltenham High Street branch, has been named one of the fast-food giant’s top restaurant managers globally. Her outstanding performance earned her the prestigious Global Ray Kroc Award, an honour bestowed upon the top 1% of McDonald’s managers across 67 markets worldwide.
Since taking on her role in August 2022, Karen has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership, inspiring her team and delivering exceptional customer experiences. As one of 392 award recipients, she receives not only a trophy and cash prize but also an exclusive invitation to the McDonald’s Worldwide Convention in Las Vegas this June, accompanied by a guest.
The Global Ray Kroc Award celebrates managers who embody McDonald’s core values, foster positive environments for employees, and drive remarkable business results. Karen expressed her gratitude, stating, “I’m honoured to be recognised among the best globally. This achievement wouldn’t be possible without my dedicated team and the support of my franchisee, Paul Toner. Their commitment and positivity are the foundation of our success. This award motivates me to keep striving for excellence and creating outstanding experiences for our customers and crew.”
Franchisee Paul Toner praised Karen’s leadership and dedication: “Karen’s ability to inspire her team and deliver strong performance over the past three years has been exceptional. She truly lives McDonald’s values and serves as a role model within the business. We are proud to see her recognised with this distinguished award and the positive impact she continues to make.”
